How long will it take to train my dog?
That depends on a number of factors! We always start with a consultation that’s about 2-3 hours long. We go over everything from daily routine, problem behaviors, in depth lesson on how dogs learn…and more. During the consultation we will be able to give you a suggested time line to reach your training goals!
Where does training take place?
To begin we come to you! As we develop our skills we will then work in different situations and stimuli. These lessons are for you! After we set the foundations we can do a lesson where ever we need to work. This can be at parties, hiking, dog friendly public places, Block Island…wherever our goals take us!
What tool is best for my dog?
This is something that is determined by many factors and every dog is different. We evaluate and discuss options together and collectively decide what tools are best. We do suggest martingale collars from Andrea’s Custom Collars, multi purpose leashes from Hope Rope Co, long leashes, high value single ingredient treats and place cots as general advice for training tools.
My dog has a bite history, is that a problem?
Nope! We are here to help, this is a judgement free zone. We do require you give all the details of each incident and follow all safety protocols.
and of course all dogs need to be up to date on rabies vaccine.
Is my dog too old?
Nope! Just like us, dogs can learn at any age!
How does the billing process work?
Consultations are paid at the time of booking.
Programs can be paid in full or 50% at the start and 50% half way through.
I’ve done training before, do I have to do the consultation?
Absolutely, the consultation ensures we have a mutual understanding of how training works, set our goals, timelines and expectations
How long until we can get started?
Our lead time depends on our work load at the time! The dogs who are currently in my care are always top priority.
